Flash Panasonic TC-P55ST50 into Panasonic TC-P55VT50?

Does anyone recall the flash for a Samsung from two years back, to upgrade it from a 7000 to an 8000? It basically enabled menu features previously unavailable and reserved for the more expensive top end model.

I am wondering if it is possible to do the same with the new Panasonic plasmas as I have an ST50 and would like the added features like 10 point grey scale (vs 2) and 96hz, etc. etc. (although I am not sure I would use all that)

Thoughts?

Even if you modified the software to do it, the limiting factor would be that they use different panels.

I see, so you are saying, the ST50 doesn't physically support ICFF or 96hz or 10-point grey scale changes, etc etc.?

I thought they were basically the same panel. (except a slightly better black level config on the VT)

ST is a single processor. VT is a dual processor.

I think the panels are the same but the boards are not. I don't think the drive is the same (just guessing), and the interface is different (more ports on the VT).

You might get closer with a GT rather than an ST, if it were possible at all.
