I am confused as to how big of a screen i should build and where i should mount my projector. My main issue is that i have a very low drop ceiling. (78") I bought a mount with an extension pole, so i plan to mount to the above floor board and run the pole through the drop ceiling having it as close to flush mount as possible. so for the specifics:
projector: Optoma HD20
projector mount: Peerless PRG-UNV-W Precision Gear Universal Projector Mount (+ 6-9" extension pole.)
room = 131" x 190" x 78" (the screen will be on the 131" wall.)
based on the calculator at http://www.eliteprojectorcalculator.com/ it gave me the largest possible screen size of 85"
I've never had a projector, so this is all pretty foreign to me. So let's say i want to go bigger, can i make a say 96" and fix the image with the keystone correction?
Also, what screen size would you recommend for a room that size.
If it matters, I needed an AT screen and bought moleskin silver and white. I plan to have the silver over the white because i favor more contrast over a brighter washed out look. The HD20 has 1700 Lumens, do you think the silver over the white is wise? The room is completely blacked out, but also has that low white drop ceiling.
I have all of my materials and enough to build a 110" screen, although i know that is way to big. I appreciate any advice you can give me. This is all a lot more complicated than i envisioned.
