I've noticed that the Ebay auctions seem to be leveling out at $450 with free shipping for the deluxe bundles. I'm kinda surpsied by that, because I honestly thought that it wouldn't be that high. I was expecting more like $420 or $430 or something. Still, once you factor in sales tax and shipping and all the ebay/paypal fees, and the risk of chargebacks, it doesn't really seem worth it to flip these things, but people are desperate for anything they can flip. My local Craigslist is flooded with people trying to sell Wii U's.

I'm guessing that after Black Friday it will be difficult to find Wii U's, and deluxes might go up to about $500 or so per package.


I'm still not sure it's worth all the trouble and drama...

After playing the Wii U for a couple days, I think it's worth it.

There's a couple launch-system oddities in the UI and configuration - but overall, the integration of the controller and online presence is very impressive. Possibly game-changing.

I'm 90% sure that there would be more than enough for everyone genuinely interested in purchasing one if it weren't for all the flippers going out and hoarding inventory and creating a false shortage.

Look at this secondary market in Chicagoland for Gods sake, and this is just essentially from initial launch shipments:

I started a mission of looking for a Premium Set this morning. Called about 15 stores and found a Kmart in Frackville, PA that had 2 8GB ones in stock. Went and picked up one of those and then by 3PM a local Kmart had one 32GB in stock. So I returned the 8GB and swapped it for the 32GB. They still seem very easy to grab on a whim.

My local Target had 4 8gb & at least 1 32gb set in stock yesterday afternoon while I was there. Not thinking we'll see the kind of shortages we saw w/ Wii during XMAS '06.

Was in my local Target in Brooklyn a few hours ago--got there just as someone was buying a Basic set; there was one left after that.
