I know a couple of people have used Rustoleum flat black and had success. Not the rattle can, though.

What kind of performance characteristics are you looking for?
How do you plan to apply it (brush, roller, spray, etc)?
How much use will the coating get (is it an end table, or sub in dedicated theater, etc)?
When you say low sheen do you want it to be as flat as possible or can some sheen(eg-shel/satin) be tolerable?

I feel like I just responded to someone who just said "I have $2000 what can I buy with this?" Sorry in advance for nerding out on paint biggrin.gif
