replacing my 51 inch tv with a 60 inch will my tv stand still work?

Hi guys,

I'm planning on getting a 60 inch plasma to replace the 51 inch plasma. From the picture I have attached do you think a 60 inch would fit? Also I have no idea how much weight this tv stand holds but I would think from 51 to 60 it would only about 15 pounds heavier. Not sure from the picture if you can see if it looks sturdy enough to hold a 60 inch.

note don't mind the mess and the ps3 on my sub. I was moving things around and don't use the ps3 there.

Thanks ahead of time

My move from a 50" to a 65" plasma led me to losing 30 pounds of weight in the plasma (and it's attached base). I'm not sure why you think the new one will be 15 pounds heavier. It might be, but my guess is that it won't. I suspect your stand will be fine, but this does not constitute professional advice.

Thanks for the quick reply. I looked up the specs on the tv from the samsung site. And the 51 inch I had on there was 50.7 pounds while the new 60 inch is 65 pounds. The 51 inch I had there was the Samsung 2012 E490. I ended up returning it because it was defective and got a full refund. So well now that I got to see the 51 inch there I felt a 60 inch would be nicer with 1080p instead of 720p. My couch is about 14 feet away and the 50 inch looked small. The 60 inch I'm currently looking at is the samsung e6500.

Thanks!!

There's no way to tell how sturdy it is by looking at a picture.

Surely you can come up with the documentation and/or specifications (original instruction manual, or the manufacturer's website, etc) for your TV stand which will list the maximum weight rating.
