Home theater upgrade question. What first?

I got messing with my parents' crappy system and it got me wanting new stuff for myself and I realized I wouldn't even know what to start with. Selling my current stuff to help fund upgrades got me thinking it could be done slowly for not a ton of money if I find good deals.

Onkyo TX-SR608
Klipsch F-2 Fronts
Klipsch RC-35 Center
Klipsch Quintet III as the 4 surrounds (7.1)
Klipsch Sub-12

I'm thinking first up would probably be the front towers to something like Klipsch Reference series or KEF Q series(noticed the iQ70s were on sale but would the RC-35 match?)?
Next either the sub to something like a PowerSoundAudio, HSU, something equivalent in the mid price range or the surrounds to something to match the fronts?

Just looking for a little advice from some enthusiasts with a little extra time on their hands.

Would it be dumb to get rid of the 4 Quintet rear and go with 2 Klipsch RS-42? Make it a 5.1 instead of 7.1.

RC-35 is a Reference series center so yes it should match other Reference series towers.

Why do you believe the current setup is crappy? That should be pretty good for most people.

Now if you don't like the Klipsch sound then upgrading to RF towers probably wont make a difference.

The guy I bought the center from had matching towers but kept them unfortunately and new ones were too expensive at the time.

This setup is my own that I'd like to slowly upgrade. The crappy reference was to my parents' mismatched bargain bin setup that got me looking at stuff again and sparked interest for my own setup.

I do enjoy the sound of the system for what I do. The main thing I've noticed is that the sub is not enough for my room. I think it's like 22x14 with vaulted ceiling.

Also thank you for looking and helping out. I know my question is pretty broad.

I would do that if it weren't so far away. Indianapolis to Atlanta seems a little far for speakers. tongue.gif I'll have to keep an eye on here and craigslist for similar but close.

ask the seller to ship, they might change their mind and ship to get rid of them.

Any advice on my final thought "Would it be dumb to get rid of the 4 Quintet rear and go with 2 Klipsch RS-42? Make it a 5.1 instead of 7.1"?
