Day 9:
Test Day!
With everything dry and cured, the box was ready to mate with the subwoofer. Carried the box upstairs into the house, then carried up the driver itself, and then finally mounted it.

Dropped the sub inside the box and fooled around with it for a little bit. I'm getting a lot of hum- I don't know whether it's a cable or the amp. This is with my original Dayton 1000 watt plate amp. I've tried using a "real" subwoofer cable and then some regular RCAs to connect the amp to the Denon 2113CI AVR and the hum was present in both instances. I also tried using a different wall socket for amp power. I'm frustrated because the hum was driving me insane, and I gave up on any further troubleshooting. The good news are when the LFE effects kicked in it sounded pretty good and plenty loud
Shook the whole house down, got massive amounts of annoying rattling.
Until I get the hum fixed I can forget about finishing. Right now my plan is to coat everything in a 1:1 wood glue:water ratio, sand, prime, sand, paint black.(in simple terms).
Taking suggestions on how to proceed further. Thank you.
