This is essentially what I initially had in mind only because I thought it was a better option if 2 channel audio was more of a priority. To clarify, I am not set on any one particular setup. If there is a better way to do this ( i.e with one amp ), then I am all for it. I am just not sure if an AVR is the best for 2 channel audio - perhaps, I am wrong.
Lets repharse the question - Using the Oppo 105 ( via its xlr output), what is the recommended setup for a 2 channel system which also allows for the occasional HT use, IF the front left and right speakers are used for both the 2 channel setup and HT at the same time
The recommendations you have been given you will work best for your aforementioned goal. The question is for us to better assist you please specify if you own a 2 channel power amp with an XLR input jack. Are you planning to acquire one or are you hoping to use your Denon and your Denon alone? If you are planning to integrate a separate 2 channel amplifier into your set up, a pre with HT bypass capability will be your best option. You can always upgrade your receiver to a bad a** high powered AVR with XLR inputs and forget the Pre or separate two channel amp.
