my roomie thoughts.

Thread Starter
been playing around setting up roomie for the better part of a month. maybe about 8 hours invested in the setup. I came from a harmony 1000 to a 1100 to the roomie remote. I was happy with the Logitech in a whole but the amazing screen on the ipad and ipad mini that I already owned was what sucked me in. my only trouble with the entire setup was my panny 65" vt25 tv. I could not for the life of me get the tv to work with ip control or serial. I then threw in towel for a few weeks and bought the ir module. it worked flawlessly and my entire setup is amazing. the fact that the ir module has 3 outputs that you can assign is quite amazing for the price. I have a Marantz av-7005 that is controlled over ip, the oppo bdp-95 over serial, directv over ip and my tv and apple tv over ir. I still have one ir port left i'm trying to integrate my mac mini for plex but I think I will use a different app for that. all and all I must say that the setup was amazingly simple and tonight I will tweak some of my favorite stations to the directv remote of it. the onscreen guide for directv is amazing on the ipad. I can't see myself spending another dime on any other remote anytime soon!

Two questions... first how do you like the VT25 series. I just picked up a refurbished VT50P VT25 for 825. Hoping I didn't spend too much for it. Second question, I also use roomie and love it. I use the IR iTach IP2IR and it was working great for about a month but then suddenly the IR stopped working. Global Cache is replacing the IR Blaster so I am hoping that will fix the issue. Anyway, I was hoping that the VT25 would work with the Roomie remote but it appears that it doesn't. Did you see the VT25 when adding devices in Roomie and if not did you try manually adding it via its IP?

By the way I also added the Smarthome 2412N controller so that I can control the lights via Roomie. Works great.

Thanks for your input
