I have a 25TB library and really need some help narrowing down choices to find the best network media player.
I am not very concerned with codec compatibility, all of my stuff should play without any problem. Everything will be connected via Gigabit network. I don't need and will never use any locally attached storage. Even though my setup is 3D, I really don't need it (don't own glasses, don't intend to buy any).
What I really want is a superb media library. I would like:
a) Cover art, choosable from external source would be ideal (like thetvdb)
b) Sort by genre
c) Categorize Movies separately from TV Shows
d) Fully understand TV Shows "seasons", and remember where I left off (last episode watched)
e) IMDB ratings would be great
f) Ability to see list of actors would be nice
g) A way to quickly flip around through hundreds of choices
i) Must support network indexing, a real plus if compatible with Sickbeard for auto-updates or a way to auto-scan on intervals (like overnight while sleeping)
j) Internet based stuff is a plus, really my only requirement is YouTube - I don't care about Netflix or Amazon as the video quality of those services is too low so I don't subscribe to them. It would be nice to get some sort of mainstream media news outlets video, as I don't have cable/satellite or OTA (I just use my video library, no 'conventional' tv)
Any suggestions? I'm entertaining Micca, Aios, Popcorn Hour (which I have currently, the A210, and am not impressed), and maybe Dune? Price is not really a factor within reason (a few hundred dollars), I just want the best experience.
