HELP: Picking a new 60 inch +/- HDTV for room with (1) Glare and (2) a need for Wide Viewing Angles

I have a family room with tons of window glare and seating at both sides of the fireplace over which the HDTV must be mounted.

So, I need a 60 inch +/- HDTV that (1) deals well with glare (a superior glare filter) and (2) has superior wide viewing angles.

Thanks in advance for your help in this regard.

Viewing angles on LCDs and LED LCDs is nowhere near as wide as they are on Plasma TVs.

These Plasmas have a good AR Filter:

Panasonic: ST50 or GT50 series.

Samsung: PNE6500 or PNE7000 series.

What do the Reviews You've Read have to say about Bright Room viewing? Often gets mentioned in a review, even if only briefly.

If seriously concerned about glare, could also opt for the top 2012 LG plasma (9700, per memory), as it has a Matte finish screen....

Samsung and Panasonic Plasma's both seem to have equal amounts of fans and detractors here.

Glare is not often mentioned.

I saw the LG locally and it had poor PQ to my eye.

Aside from 3D, which I do not care about, is there much difference between the VT50, GT50 and the ST50 for family room (not dedicated primary home theater) viewing?

I haven't compared all three side by side (by side...) so I can't tell you for sure. But, if I remember correctly the ST and GT have the same AR filter. Only real way to tell is to get them in your home and mounted. It also depends on how picky the viewing audience is. My wife & kids probably wouldn't care b/t the sets but I may.
