I have had enough with the glitches in this receiver! I was using it as a pre/pro and it sounds quite good. Budget is $4000 maximum. I have external amplification.

Try the Rotel rsp-1572..

Amazing sound for money..

I will see if I can find one to audition. I previously had a 1066 and then a 1098 and I really liked both of them. I sold the 1098 so that I could listen to HD codecs. The 1098 was sonic nirvana for me so should have just kept it.

be carefull what you wish for, I have a parasound c2, it is a excellent prepro, I had the upgrade hdmi bug, I bought a emotiva umc, besides its bass managment problems, it just didn't sound good, so I dumped it, and tried a receiver as a prepro (pioneer elite), again it just did not sound as good as my parasound, imo, the older prepro's such as parasound or classe, just sound better then the current models, I think then your anthem may be a better solution then whats being offered on todays market

Look for a used Anthem AVM 50v. Fantastic unit.

Arcam AVR360 since you already have power amps.

I love the Arcam sound.

Also look at Audio Lab 8200AP
