Newbie - Help in deciding the right combination of receiver + HT speakers ~$500

Hello Experts,

I am planning to buy a HT (out-of-box) for my apartment (Size: 12 x 18) and i have a restricted size limits (small) of speakers under $500 budget

I have purchased Pioneer VSX822 for $199. Now i want to get speakers which would be best match for this. I've shortlisted below in no-order of choice as per reviews and discussion on this forum
  1. MartinLogan MLT-2 Home Theater System (Black)
  2. Polk Audio RM705 5.1 Home Theater System (Set of Six, Black)
  3. Energy 5.1 Take Classic Home Theater System
  4. Klipsch HD Theater 1000 5.1-channel Home Theater Speaker System (600/500 series are $599 currently)

i understand these are much better speakers but i need to stretch my budget on this

Definitive Technology ProCinema 600 5.1 Speaker System (Set of Six, Black)

After much research and deeping my pocket i have shortlisted Definitive Technology Pro Cinema 600 or 800 series. Can i have a good recommendation on below:

1. Good matching receiver, i have Pioneer VSX 822K ( i know this wont give me the best result what speakers are too for 800 series)
2. What AWG size, any good company/brand? I keep hearing "Monster"
3. Any recommended banana plugs?

Someone please help this new audio person smile.gif

Can you get the Pro Cinema 800 with the $300 you have left? If so you should do it!

1. Since you already have the vSX-822 just keep it. It'll be fine for a satellite speaker setup.

2. 14ga or 16ga speakers wire is just fine. Monoprice has some of the best pricing

I am definitely leaning more towards Pro 800 series but currently in a dilemma:

Option 1: Go with this package at BestBuy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9999192500050004&type=product&id=pcmprd192000050004 (Includes Pro Cinema 600 and Denon AVR2113CI). I heard denon has awesome Audessy******

Option 2: Stick with my Pioneer VSX-822K and get Pro 800

Finally opted for these system within my budget and room size:



Any suggestions/recommendation? I wanted to get accessories from monoprice, but shipping killed my budget

I'm still accumulating my budget to go for Pro Cinema 800 in future...
