As part of the now launched Vegas Pro Suite

there is now also the DVDA 6 available.

As a sensation: the DVDA 6 has been extendet to the authoring for s3D - for 1080 24p, 720 50p and 720 60p MVC based 3D-Blu-rays.

Support for burning stereoscopic 3D video to Blu-ray Disc.
Interactive tutorials.

To say it very clear - there seems to be no support for AVCHD 2.0 and AVCHD 3D - what has to be expected given the fact that this product adresses the more professional requirements, but what are still below the $20.000 software DoStudio.

Major limitation: there is no s3D preview and the menus are in 2D only. But the streams are not recompressed during the authoring, if they have been created from Vegas Pro 12. And that are nice features, I think.

There is a free upgarde for owners of the DVDA 5.2 too:

Have just created my first test-MVC-based 3D-Blu-ray with menus with the DVDA6. Works fine so far. Two short teststreams from the TD10 pal version was prepared in Vegas Pro 12, renderd to 720 50p with the MVC-encoder. Audio was rendered with the AC3 Pro encoder to AC3 5.1 for the first and AC3 2.0 for the second stream. Neither the video nor the audio was recompressed in the DVDA, only the small menu had to be calculated.

Menus are in 2D, and there is no 3D preview from the DVDA6. Playback works fine with the Sony S590, and it switches from 2D to 3D if one choose a menu.

So far so great. biggrin.gif

I'm happy to see that this works.
Since I don't own a bluray burner but a DVD burner I want to ask you: is it possible to write a 3D blu ray iso to a DVD? so far I've tried but no luck, but that might be me doing something wrong. (I'm playing the disk with PS3...maybe that's not AVCHD 2.0?)

Sure, you can write every iso to a DVD, if the iso is small enough. You can use a lot of tools to do so.

But if that disc can be played back - well that is something you can try. But I think you will not be successfull very likely.

You can play a 3D Blu-ray from DVD on a number of Sony players. I have a Sony 480 and a 570, and both can do it. Sony removed that capability from the 590 player. Neither the PS3 nor the Panasonic players will do it. It's a mess.
