Yes, I ran it. Followed all the Limetech instructions to the letter. As usual, the upgrade went very smoothly. I'm a little reluctant to downgrade all the way to rc5, though, so I'm going to follow the thread for a while and see if they can resolve it. I only have a problem with some very high bitrate Blu-ray iso files so far.

Just started testing my player today. So far I'm getting random audio drop outs. Pausing and playing again will restore the audio. I'm also having trouble skipping chapters. My single 3D iso file isn't being recognized as 3D.

Maybe I should give the beta firmware a try to see if it resolves these issues?

its a full ISO clone?

leave BD OFF before play the ISO 3D press F3 with remote.

All the files are main movie ISO rips made with DVDFab. I had BD Menu set to off already. I'm not overly concerned with 3D at this point. The audio drop outs are a major problem though. Not being able to skip chapters is pretty annoying too. I have a series of tests I want to perform tonight to see if I can pinpoint what's causing the issue. I'm using a new server that I just built so I want to make sure that isn't the source of the problems.

1 in 10 (maybe less) Blu-ray iso's don't let me skip chapters. Mine are all full Blu-ray rips, with menus. I also have frequent audio drop outs, but it's a lot more severe with 3D discs.

Have you done testing to determine if it's the media player that's at fault? Which firmware are you running?

you can try the ISO using external disk, to check if the problem reside in local network
for 3D streaming is required NFS protocol and mount share of 32768

New Diagnostic functionality - Display NFS mount info - Mount a NFS share and press the 'F1' button and NFS connection details will be displayed ie vers=3,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,proto=udp,port=65535,timeo=7,retrans=3,addr=192.168.10.20

there a options in X3D settings to force 32768 (proto UDP , rsize 32768)

If the audio drops are random is difficult to analyse the problem, network performance ? samba , nfs ? ....is they audio drop occur in exact same place, they are probably seameless branched titles.

in v2.0.0 i can get 120mbps in NFS and about 85mbps in samba, but this is my network, not yours.

I've set everything up properly for NFS but I'm having the same problem as Joe. I'm also running unRaid 5.0rc11 and my NFS shares are showing as empty in Mede8er. So I have to use SMB for now which should still be fine for 2D.

The audio drops are random. I can rewind and play through the same spots without issues. I plan to play some files off another drive to see if I still get drops. I'm also going to hook up my old media player and see if I have any issues streaming from the unRaid server.

Still having the same problem on v2 beta firmware on pixel being cut off on bottom and right. You can try out the sharpness and overscan test pattern from AVS Test Pattern. You'll see the white border line had been cut off thus unable to display 1:1 pixel mapping. For 2D, I'll still stick to Dune Prime 3.0 only using Med600X3D for 3D movie.

I did some testing last night. I was able to reproduce the random audio dropouts using my old NAS. Both were streaming using SMB. Upgraded to firmware 2.0 and still had the same problem. Tonight I'll try NFS on the old NAS and see if that fixes it. I can't get the MED to see the library using NFS on my unRaid server so I'm not sure what I'd do if that's the issue.

so many tests and not a single word about audio bugs playing from external hard drive...

there a possibility that the issue is not network related, i would never change my NAS unless i made some testing in usb ports.

I don't have an external drive and my BD ISO rips are too big to fit on my thumb drive. The old NAS was still on the network and was an easy quick test.

Puckshaw, I am streaming from unRAID (v4.7) and was never able to play 3D Bluray ISO's via SMB, but NFS for the most part works fine. I've had 1 or 2 that would just not play smoothly.

Any chance the 1 or 2 that did not play smoothly were disney or seamless branch? Any of these will not play smoothly (a jump/skip at each transition between m2ts files)

I didn't have any luck with it, seems to be DTS MA tracks that have the issues in my experience...audio drops with occasional stutter...NFS or SMB. TrueHD was fine. I've gone with MKV and it's much more reliable and I am using NFS. You can try MKV by mounting the ISO with Slysoft's Virtual Clonedrive (free) and then use MakeMKV (currently free) to create it, just point MakeMKV to the index.bdmv file. You need to select the lossless track if you want it included as MakeMKV doesn't do it by default. This is faster than decrypting from disc again.

I thought you were referring to Blu-ray 3D, but your issue is with just plain old 2D Blu ray?

Not sure if Tron Legacy is seamless. Typically the Disney animation movies are the seamless branch ones.

I would say 2D Bluray SMB I see a very occasional video stutter, but we're talking once or twice during a movie, if at all. I'm hoping v2 corrects this (I haven't upgraded yet).

Interesting. I'd hate to have to convert my collection to MKV when things used to play fine on my old crappy Popbox. If that's what it comes down to, I'll just return the MED and hook the Popbox back up.

Yup, I'm just trying to get 2D to play properly. Audio randomly drops out and won't come back unless I pause and play again. It also occured on The Dark Knight Rises and my wife tried to watch Pitch Perfect and reported the same issue.

I can tell you the most recent one was Monster's Inc 3D Bluray. Do you think if I run it through MKV it will get rid of the seamless branch? I worry though that the 3D won't be retained - I've had some issues with that converting 3D Blurays to MKV.

You will retain the 3d with makemkv. Mede8er fully supports this, just no support for forced subs (which wouldn't matter for monsters)

I will try it, but I know last time I tried to rip 3D movie only using MakeMKV, the resulting video file would only play in 2D.

Very interesting discussion. I was about to spend a few hundreds on a NAS and a Mede8er player, but with all the problems you guys seems to have with video rendition and audio dropping out, I will definately put this project a side for now. very unfortunate!

Small update. I reverted my unRaid server back to rc10 and I can now see my NFS share in MED. I'm streaming Tron Legacy again to see if the audio still drops out. So far so good...
