They could of won a Medal of Honor for all I care. Let us know when they decide to create a decent jukebox that supports TV Shows.

X3D can't re-position the ISO's internal or external subtitle?
I thought it's supported by default frown.gif

The latest v2.0 BETA firmware release on March partially fix the 1:1 pixel mapping issue. Now only the right side cut off one pixel. The bottom missing pixel had been fixed.

Update:
The above test is run on Panasonic 65ST50. I try the test again on Optoma HD8300 projector and it show all pixel correctly. Need to reinvestigate again on the plasma tv.

I currently have an old WD Live with the B-rad firmware on it and am looking to upgrade to something that does 3D and can send TrueHD audio to my receiver and won't downmix it. I will be streaming everything from my HP Mediasmart WHS.

Is the 600X3D the best option right now?

WDTV Live does play True HD, it doesn't play DTS-MA. Mede8er is probably the best option at the moment since it has been out longer.

Might be the Orbiter on the plasma.

Orbiter is set to Auto. Also check from HTPC using the same test pattern and it is missing one pixel from the right too. So the issue is not from Mede8er.

Current BETA v2.0 March firmware is stable for 2D and 3D playback. Tested out with 2D/3D ISO and MKV file stream from network using NFS and so far no issue on stuttering and audio dropout. I would recommend Mede8er for someone looking for trouble free 2D and 3D media (no Cinavia and region free). Only cons now is no Full BD menu which is due to licensing issue. Will tryout the jukebox soon and current API development should encourage more third party jukebox soon.

Impressive work! Done in a week after I raised this issue.

Here's an interesting development. Over the weekend, I migrated my Unraid hard drives to a new Supermicro 24-bay server. I've found the new server faster in every way than the old one (which I built). The Supermicro unit is a business class server that I got from TAMSolutions in Utah for a ridiculously cheap price. There's an AVS thread on it. Anyway, with this new server, the problem with Blu-ray 3D/DTS HD MA playback via my regular network seems to be gone. I'm still not using NFS, but playback doesn't stutter and audio does not drop out. I've tried playback from a local hard drive attached to the MED600X, and there doesn't appear to be any difference now between that and normal network playback of the same Blu-ray 3D titles. Most play just fine. Some Disney titles, like Tangled, still exhibit some minor breakup at transitions, but that happens from the hard drive or the network. It's not severe, but hopefully it will be solved with a firmware upgrade down the line. Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs was unwatchable via the network before - it stuttered badly. It plays fine after the server change, too. I still have a lot to do to complete my setup, but overall I really like this little device.

I think I"ll get another 600X for my dedicated home theater room. It's that much more convenient than using the HTPC for most movie playback. I'd like it if it supported TV series, too, but hopefully that's coming some day down the line. My HTPC handles those discs well enough for now.

glad you sorting things, if you going to 3D route, make sure you using NFS for completly shutter free video + hd audio

also i read in mede8er forums that nfs v4.0 is not supported, just v3, it will mount v4 but revert to v2.

Right. I plan to do that. No sooner do I post about my success with 3D and Samba than I have an audio dropout with a 2D title with DTS HD MA. This may take a little longer for me, because Unraid apparently has broken NFS support in the latest release candidate.
FWIW, I am using the 600 with a Synology Rackstation. (I used to be an unraid guy, btw) With Samba 2D is flawless. As had been said use NFS to get good 3D. Disney ISOs at branching hiccup, but that is it. Gonna' try ripping them to 3D mkv since the BD menus are inoperable anyway. I love this thing.

What is the status of an iPAD app for a music jukebox for this?

I was looking at a used Logitech Squeezebox touch but they are ridiculously expensive and not supported any longer. All i need is something that will read basically all digital music formats, output it digitally to my preamp, and allow me to see cover art and make selections with a nice IPAD gui interface.

This is great, but we still need the following:

Forced sub detection in MKV files.
Boxset support.

Agreed. The TV Show support is a nice step, but still not quite where I would consider it proper support. Really hoping it gets to the point where TV and Movies are all one jukebox instead of having to juggle multiple processes

I agree. I posted somewhat of the same comment on the other thread. If you own a Mede8er already this is a nice option, but if you are spoiled like me using Zappiti then it isn't worth it.

NET API V0.3 is fully functional in our latest X3D Beta and supports Mede8er Movie and Music JukeBox and IP Control Commands. So our work is complete on the API and its now up to external developers. We already Alpha testing iPad based Movie JukeBox Apps but it will take some time till these are ready for the mass market. I expect most will complete the Movie JukeBox and then start the Music JukeBox. I also want this completed asap but we need to be a little patient.

We know, and please don't think I'm knocking your players, nor your efforts. I think I can speak for most everyone here when I say that the efforts and improvements we see in the code from your dev team, along with the public presence they have on your forums beats any other player hands down.

It beats the Dune in support and customer service. It doesn't beat it in what my family and I use the most full jukebox support for movie and TV shows.

Thanks! I think I may go ahead and pick one of these up to test and play around with. If I am convinced that the video output quality is as "bit perfect" as my Oppo 93 it will probably take over as the everyday player. Having something I can connect all of my music too with an IPAD app plus a full featured, jukebox enabled high quality Blu ray rip playing device would be very nice. Right now I get the high quality playback through the Oppo, but have a very pedestrian folder based file selection method.

I'm using the 1000X3d solely for HD music. I've got two jukeboxes set uo, one for my Blu-ray and DVD video discs (individual tracks) and the other for hi res audio albums, primarily DVD-A but also bluray video ripped as audio only. Works beautifully. No problems with DTS 5.1, DTS-HDMA 5.1, Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio streams.

This is really a great way to manage your hi def music. I've just moved my hi def audio collection to the media server and now so easy to listen to everything.

Just wish I could get my SACDs ripped. I know one day the discs will die, aka laser rot...

NEW firmware

Install X3D_Series_V2BETA_15March2013
Install using the Emergency Procedure

http://www.mede8er.org/beta/Firmwares_Beta/MED1000X3D/2013/X3D_Series_V2BETA_15March2013.zip

Changelog V2.0.0 - 15March 2013
1. Fixed - Watched Indicator in List and Preview View
2. New Functionality Mede8er JukeBox Plus
JukeBox Plus is new functionality within the X3D Firmware that will allow you to Aggregate your Movie JukeBoxes across different sources such as internal Hard Drive, USB Drives and Network shares both Samba and NFS. There is no limitation to the amount of Movie JukeBox's that can be added to JukeBox Plus and just remember that the source shares must have the required Mede8er folder structure with the correct images and xml files. JukeBox Plus is actually a dummy JukeBox and can be deleted at any stage without any effect on your source files.

JukeBox Plus Instructions
1. Make a folder on any source and name it what you like. (Note: The source needs to be write enabled)
2. We have added a facility in the GUI to add a folder so you do not require a PC to do this - Navigate to a Drive or Network Share in the Mede8er Media Library and press the 'Edit' button on the remote and you will see a new function names 'New Folder' - Use this this make your JukeBox Plus folder
3. Navigate to the new folder you just made ie JukeBox Plus or whatever you called it and press the 'Menu' button and select 'Add to Favourites'
4. Go to Favourites and you will see the new JukeBox Plus folder you have just made - Press the Menu Button and select option 'Aggregate Jukebox'
5. The folder will now be assigned as the Aggregated JukeBox and a new thumbnail will be displayed.
6. Now you are ready to add Mede8er structure shares to the JukeBox Plus folder
7. In the Media Library - Navigate to the folder you want to add and focus on it then press the 'Menu' button and select option 'Add to JukeBox' and the X3D will add this folder and Auto Rescan the JukeBox Plus folder. Repeat this process to add all the different folders you require to add to the Jukebox Plus.
8. A Favourite can also be added to JukeBox Plus - Press the 'Menu' button and select option ' Add to Jukebox'
9. Remember to turn on 'JukeBox View' in Setup Menu
10. Launch the JukeBox Plus icon and all your movies across the different drives and Network shares will be displayed in one consolidated Movie JukeBox.
11. If content changes on a drive or share then you need to re add the folder to the JukeBox Plus ie Point7 and the new content will be added.
12. On large collections the first scan can take some time ie +- 3.5min for 500 movies on NFS. Rescanning when adding content will be a quick as only the new content needs to be added.

Is there a feature breakdown / comparison of this player to the Dune or PorcornHour somewhere? I am about to pull the trigger on this one but just want to be sure. I certainly do like the lightning fast firmware updates and the communication of Mede8er.

Anything it lacks that others have? If so, is that something that can be fixed with firmware?

The only reason keeping from buying a Mede8er is their jukebox lack of TV Show support and editing with the same program. Other than that is a good media player.
