I got a reciever from ac4l and had no issues and would not hesitate to buy from them again. I have a speaker package coming from Ascend so have not listened to them yet so I can't comment on sound but just thought i would tell you the CBM 170's are 50 dollars off at the moment for a pair which would put them just under 300, and the HTM 200SE center is 158.

Good luck I have had a htib for about 12 years but i just decided to finally step up and get something good and i can tell you I have gone well above where i wanted to go, with speakers, subs and reciever I'm sitting at about 2300 bucks about 1000 more than I originally wanted to spend!eek.gif

Hope I'm not dissapointed!

Ok - I received my 3.1 system this week.

Denon 2113ci
HTD Level 3 bookshelf
HTD Level 3 cc
HSU STF-1 sub

Will be setting it up soon.

Will let you guys know how it works out!

I asked this question myself and alot of people said that Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon is a good test disc.

Great thread. I am thinking about going HTD's now. I have Martin Logan Motions 10 R&L - 6 Center - 2 Surrounds in my living room and want a system for my Living room. Do you guys think the HTD will sound better, crisper,fuller than the motions? Also, I am no expert and was wondering if the HTD Level 2 Towers would be better than the HTD 3 Bookshelves due to the HTD 3 Towers just being too much $$ and 2 towers and 3 book shelves being close enough $$/price wise to consider. My system will be 80% in HT and 20% music running through a 2112. I would love to hear more about how your system sounds when set up and feedback from those in the know about these HTD's possibility s. Thanks

The only way to know if you are going to like the is if you audition them. What's sound good to me might sound bad to you. I've heard my friend's HTD Level 3 5.1, and it sound great for music and movies. HTD will let you try them for 30 days, if you don't like them they will pay for return shipping.

Another one I would add would be the Dire Straits' Brothers In Arms SACD. You can get a copy on eBay or Amazon fairly cheap(less than $20 in most cases).
