Some basic questions about building my own home theater subwoofer.

Hello all. I've been contemplating what new sub to by for my current home theater for some time now and the whole time I've had this TC Sounds motor based custom built 15" driver originally purchased for my car audio project sitting in the corner of the room staring at me.

It got me thinking how much money could I save building one on my own.

The sub will easily handle 1500 watts in a car audio setup, but does this correlate to the same amount of watts I will need for a home theater setup given the difference in amps used and the 120v power source and all?

If there are any links or threads that would be helpful I would appreciate it! Thanks guys!
