Camcorder Black Friday Deals - Page 2

Panasonic X900M got lowered to $648. Lowest price yet. I'm not sure if it'll go down to $600 like what happened to the TM900 but the current price is sort of close as is.
http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-X900MK-Camcorder-Internal-HC-X900MK/dp/B0072B5E2Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354915181&sr=8-1&keywords=x900
Theirs also a chance that the price might get back up.

^EVERYTHING seems a little pricier this year for deals compared to last year, not just camcorders either. It looks to me like alot of products are selling for 10% more than their counterparts did last year at rock bottom sale prices. It's a great price for the X900m, regardless.

To be fair, the $600 price wasn't for long at all and the X900 been under $700 for a bit longer than the TM900 I believe.

Non of this effects me anyway since I have decided to purchase the Panasonic AC90. I'll probably get to me by Tuesday. Definitely a gigantic price difference but their are so many extra features that I can use. I might get a couple of big gigs this month so it'll be put to work right away.

I'll probably be doing a comparison of the AC90 to my older SD600. That will be interesting to post online.

The sharpness and colors in these AC90 Youtube videos leave alot to be desired IMHO:

Do you know of any impressive samples out there on Youtube or Vimeo?

I'm more than capable of finding good videos but try telling the people the same thing in here.

Make sure to also say that you think the OMD is sharper than the TM900, X900 and the AC90 and see how they'll respond to you. Also, maybe you can tell us all of those places that has a lot of people praising the video mode of the OMD.

I also have a GH1 and GH2. DSLR type of cameras isn't for everything. I have both so I can have the best of both worlds.

I believe the X900K doesn't have any built in memory unlike the X900M version which has 32GB of internal storage. Still an extremely good price for a camcorder that has all of those features.

yeah, I consider it a non-issue being how cheap cards are now, if anyone needs them at this point...

I prefer to use a card reader anyway.

GH2 discounted to $500 for the body while the GH3 is $1,300. Now that's a gigantic difference.

wow...I knew that would happen. Thanks for the post.

Know of a good adapter for the GH2 to put non-Panasonic lens on? I read some complaints of adapters possibly getting stuck. Possibly for Canon/Nikon.

___________
hmmm... just revisited the link, if you buy the f1.7 Panasonic pancake with the GH2 you can get it for $279, making the total $778.
That's darn good considering the GH2/kit lens is selling for $699.

Panasonic X900M went down to 589 on Amazon. Do people see that going lower?

Also, does anyone know which drops and spills warranty is better between Amazon and B&H, or is it negligible?
$589 is the absolute lowest it has ever been. Theirs always a chance that it can go lower but knowing Amazon, they might keep it at that price until stock runs out. Once they get stock in again, the price might be higher. It's a gamble. You could wait for it to get even lower but as I said, it could get higher.

The X900 M version, the one with 32GB of built in storage is now priced to $599.

Quote from the listing.
"Limited supply at this price" This is sort of what I was saying in which it'll be at that price until it's sold out and if they get more in, it'll probably be higher.

It's a good thing I'm used to keeping track of camera prices because I just saw that B&H reduced the AC90 to $1850. Crap!, I just bought it for $150 more! I immediately contacted B&H to see if they'll give me a break. All I ask is $150 credit toward my next B&H purchase. I still need to get a bag for it and after spending that much on the camera, I wasn't interested in spending a lot on a bag now. This really stinks for me but hopefully they'll do me this favor which would be great. It's only been a few days so you never know.

Just add it to the cart.

My wife bought a $300 camera there two weeks ago. The next day the price dropped $50. She did an "on line chat" and got a credit to her credit card on the spot.

So what is the better deal right now: the panasonic 900 or the canon 500? I have never had a camcorder before but want with our first child on the way. Bought the penny but wonder if I am making a mistake passing on the canon. One of the complaints on the canon I've seen is the lens.
mulliganman - you made the right decision, if for the viewfinder alone. The X900 is an absolute steal at $599 new, $563 used.

Best of the holidays!

Yes I did read up on other people getting the same treatment and I'm glad I was able to get it as well today. It would have really stunk not being able to also get it. That's good since it'll help me get other well needed things for the AC90 such as a bag or to also get an ND filter.
Rhyther also has the AC90 listed for $1850 right now http://www.rythercamera.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=47569 but, of course, they do not have the same sterling reputation as B&H photo. Anyway, it's interesting to see how the retailers seem to all offer discounts (and price rises) at the same time (e.g. nearly all retailers recently dropped the price on the Nikon D600 full frame down to $1999.
I would make sure that's an authorized Panasonic retailer because if it is, you get a 3 year USA warranty and a card that you mail in to get the AC90 book written by Barry Green.

Yes it's very common for stores to be always matching each others prices especially Amazon and B&H. The way things are now a days is that more and more people are doing researching online for the best prices and the companies are fully aware of that. Once a reputable company gives a decent size discount such as $150 for example, the other companies are forced to respond right away unless the price is coming from a store that isn't an authorized retailer of the camera your trying to get. In that case, B&H or Amazon wont even bother trying to match the price.

The combo pack of Photoshop and Premier Elements 11 is $90 at Amazon. $45 each is pretty cheap.
