I bought the 1TB Time Capsule because I needed an external hard drive for all my HD Media, which it stores it just fine and I still have a lot of space to go. But I get really choppy playback with streaming most video, XVID is tolerable but anything over a gb just buffers every 10-20 secs. I have the time capsule setup as a bridge, it has an ethernet connection from my router/modem (required for high-bandwith cable internet from my provider) And then an ethernet connection to my PC, my XBOX 360 is hooked up to the router/modem.
I thought this would be a sufficient setup to stream 1080p to my Plasma in my living room but heck, it isn't even sufficient enough to stream 1080p to my PC which is all of 3ft away from the time capsule. I've had it for 2 years, my workaround has been to drag whatever media I want to watch onto my internal SSD and then delete it when I'm done, but it's definitely not what I had envisioned when I first bought the TC. It has a 7200rpm HDD and the data is sent over a CAT5e connection, I figured that would be sufficient enough to stream HD files. Has anyone had success with wired streaming from the TC or should I just invest in a 1tb internal hdd, since the prices have gone down?
