Updating X-A2 from disc to 4.0

I purchased a disc from John Bacon in the UK to update a X-A2 from 2.5 to 4.0. The player has been flaky where it will not go into 1080p on the older FW
The player will not come out of setup after selecting 1080p and I have to unplug the player to get it un frozen. Still in 1080i with HDMI. Anyway, thought the update would fix the issue. recognizes the update disc and asks Update Ver.? I select yes and the player screen displays the usual warning of not to unplug etc .while updating. After 2 hours of this message the screen says no signal on my display but the player is still in standby with Ver. Up displayed in the front display of the player. I finally had to hard reboot to get the thing to respond and I am still on the old ver. of the firmware. Suggestions?

The firmware in the form of zip file is still available online @ Toshiba but no way to send the download via the internet to the back of the player anymore. It is a pain in the butt to get the zip file open and then on a disc as a disc image. Many problems with that transition.
