Speaker Placement Challenge....any clever ideas?

Hello there...hoping some people out trolling the forums this morning might be in a mood to offer some ideas.

We're updating our cabin and renovating the living room area. The attached picture is the concept drawings for the Fireplace with cabinets on the right and left. The TV will be on the left hand side. The cabinet/fireplace design in locked in at this point so making changes to that will be problematic.

Here are the requirements:

1. Wife doesn't like speakers to sit on the shelves or mantel. She prefers them to be hidden/in-wall when possible.

2. This is not a dedicated 'media room'. I already have that at home. This is just a ski cabin, but I'd like to have at least decent sound from the system (5.1) for when we do watch movies, sports, etc... Thus, I'm trying to keep this simple, but well done.

So here are my questions:

1. I think I can put the front left and front right speakers in the upper corners just above the shelving, but I'm confirming dimensions. Does anybody out there see a better option?

2. What would be a good option for the center channel? I've considered putting a center channel on the fireplace mantel, but disguising it in a 'decorative' box with mesh fronting. I.e. it doesn't look like a speaker, but is one.

3. I will have a small in-wall subwoofer on the wall on the right. Does anyone recommend a small form factor in-wall sub? I know it is not a great solution, but for this purposes it will be fine.

Thank you all and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

LCR speaker under the TV. You definitely don't want to place the center away from the image, and the constraints you're putting on the rest of the placement limit you for L/R anyway...

Is the ceiling an option? I'm thinking a directional in-ceiling. Very low key and you can dial it into the sitting position. Even traditional in-ceilings right above (or alongside) the sitting position.
