Has anyone done this kit before?

Seems like a really good price since it looks like it uses actual polk drivers. The price of a pair of Rti12's from polk's ebay store is $750 so it would be a lot cheaper to go this route.

"Actual Polk Drivers' = junk. OK that's harsh, but 'Polk' as a brand is no guarantor of quality, on the contrary much of their product line is aimed squarely at the entry-level. I also know - from personal experience - they are not above exaggerating their specs and describing bottom-of-the-line engineering as 'state-of-the-art'. Not the only company guilty of that, of course.

Is the Rti line that bad? I've owned the monitor series and they were great for what I use. Just movies and gaming not too much music.

face2 caught the problem.

"This is my finest kit to date..."

"Cerwin Vega Bi-Ampable three way crossover, 12 db design, with heavy duty gold plated binding posts."

there are no measurements. who knows what kind of wild west frequency response you are likely to get with this combination. the guy selling the kits seems like a joker.

So if i just bought the drivers from them and got a set of crossovers from polk would be the best route to take if were to build a set of these.

if that is what you want and use the same drivers with the same crossover for the exact model of speaker that you are building and build a similar cabinet, then you will get similar results.

otherwise, who knows what you will get.
