VT50: Amazon Video 5.1 Audio?

All,

I will be pulling the trigger on the 55" VT50 in the next week or so. While researching Blu-ray players, I read that the the Panny 220 outputs Amazon Video in stereo audio, not 5.1. It looks like the Sony 590 outputs in 5.1.

My question for this group is how has your experience been with the VT50's Vieracast for Amazon and Netflix? Are you able to output both in 5.1?

You will only get 2 channel out of the optical out port, only ota outputs in 5.1, were you referring to ARC or optical out ?

Thanks for the reply. I was referring to optical as I'm too familiar with ARC. What is this? Is there anyway to get 5.1 for Amazon?

Netflix outputs 5.1 via ARC so not only OTA outputs 5.1.

Maybe Amazon will give us an update for 5.1.

I was referring to optical out only.
