I just bought a Yamaha surround sound receiver and I plan on buying an Optoma HD33 projector. To reduce input lag when gaming, I think I need to directly to the projector. Right now I have an older xbox 360 so I would just use TOSLINK to the receiver and component to the projector. However, I want to plan ahead. For next gen consoles that will hopefully support HD audio, what is the best way to configure my setup for minimum input lag while getting the full audio quality that is only available via HDMI. Would an HDMI splitter make sense? Does the Optomoa HD33 support audio return channel? I couldn't find it in the manual.
