Which of these three receivers should i get?

Which receiver should i buy, the denon avr 1713 , denon avr 1612, or Sony STRDN 1030? Any help or suggestions appreciated!

Without any other information available about your setup ... the 1713. It uses the more advanced version of Audyssey MultEQ XT (found on the mid level "CI" models) and is also a networking model so can be controlled by a smart cell phone remote app.

I am trying to decide between the 1613 and 1713. I do not have a smartphone, and airplay is not that important to me. Do you think adding Audyssey MultEQ XT is worth the extra $100 by itself? If so, can you briefly explain why? Thanks!!

The setup is Polk audio monitor 40's and bic f12 and maybe some crappy
Bose as backs sometimes. Also to use the remote app I have to have the box plugged into my Internet directly through Ethernet right? I cant do that I know you have to for AirPlay but wasn't sure about the remote app.

The "direct wired" connection from the AVR to the modem/router is the recommended method with the highest connectivity reliability; however, you can also use a "wireless bridge" or Power Line adapters.

It offers a higher speaker filter resolution than does MultEQ so your speaker calibration will be somewhat better (more noticable the better quality of your speakers). If spending the extra $70 bothers you, then pick up the 1613 and enjoy. smile.gif

Oh ok so I would have to buy an accessory? Hmm the sony has that included wirelessly. But what it boils down to is sound quality I guess. The wattage though inflated is highe on the Sony but then again that doesn't matter. So you think the denon 1713 is best?

The Sony is a good avr at that price point also. It has a good room correction system and packs plenty of features. A lot of people new to HT say they don't need all the features but, that is where some of the fun and versatility comes into play. I have owend Denon, Sony, Onkyo and Pioneer avr's. Sony is not an audiophile brand but I don't think you hear a difference in SQ.

Of the 3 you listed, the Sony likely has the most power (check sound and visions review), it's wireless and BT out of the box, has more inputs (legacy, analog) than the Denons and the room correction/setup gets pretty good marks.

AVR 1613 is networked as well correct? So the app can be used for control on this device?

Yeah it is but you have to have it connecte to your Internet via Ethernet or buy a bridge attachment. The Sony has wifi (wirless) built in so no need for chords plus it has Bluetooth. If you get the denon amazon is having a sale for $100 off right now I would get the 1713
