It seems all the new Blu-Ray players no longer support a component video output, leaving you with just composite video or HDMI. An HDMI to component adapter is a very complicated and expensive choice. What other options do I have? Can I utilize the D-15 input on the video input 3? I think it is a digital format input and may provide a more ideal solution, if so, what type of cable/adapter would be required? What are others with the older set doing? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, there are still some BluRay players which do have component video out, such as the Oppos, some Denon models, and others. These players tend to be more expensive, but I'm tempted at some point to bite the bullet and buy something like an Oppo, as it is built like a tank, has cutting edge technology, is reliable and very good on firmware updates. And, of course, it gives you Component Video out and Analog 5.1 Audio out, if I'm not mistaken.

It's easy to be tempted by some much lower price BluRay players that are feature rich, I admit.
