Polk PSW10 to Klipsch Sub-10

I am slowly upgrading my home theater system and I am looking to replace my old Polk PSW10 sub. Newegg appears to have a deal on a Klipsch Sub-10 and I'm wondering if this is a decent upgrade path. I currently have Polk Monitor 70s in the front, a Polk CS2 center, and Polk Monitor 30s in the rear. All of this will be driven by a Yamaha RX-V671 once it ships (it's replacing an Onkyo TX-SR505). Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I'm pretty much in a budget price range of around 250 or less.

You'd be better off going with a Polk PSW505. They can be had for $200 when on sale. Much better than the one you're considering. Keep an eye on amazon and
newegg as they go on sale fairly often.

I'll keep an eye out for them. The PSW10 just wasn't cutting it anymore. I was watching the expendables 2 last night and during all the scenes with explosions the sub was producing a lot of port noise/rattling noises. If I turn the sub down, you don't hear anything coming from it. After I replaced the front speakers (had monitor 50s before), the 70s seem to be out doing the sub. It's just time for a new one.

I use the same front three speakers as you for movies and the PSW505 will definately put out much more bass than the Monitor 70's.

The PSW505 has dropped back down to $199 at both Amazon and Newegg. It was $250 at both during the last week and Black Friday. I'm going to pull the trigger, thanks for the help!

Good for you. You'll notice a big difference over the PSW10 sub. It's a great deal for the price.

I just upgraded from the polk psw 10 to the Klipsch RW-12d ( reading this forum is a sure way to spend money darn it) even though the little polk performed better than you would think, the Klipsch is quite a bit better. I've just got to run Audyssey.
