Does cable amp need to be grounded?

A cable tech replaced my splitters with an EVO1-5-U/P amp and all is well and the picture is clear on all TV's with signal levels around -3.6 dBmV and SNR of 37.9. With that being said, I noticed a ground block on the amp however the tech didn't use it. Is this normal or should I ground the amp to the main ground of my circuit panel nearby?

The cable should be grounded close to the point of entry outside. That's sufficient.

The cable appears to be grounded outside, so I assume then grounding the amp would be overkill?

The first point of contact with your home should be grounded, if the line from the pole/underground cable box that goes to your house hit a splittler then from the splitter goes to the amp then the splittler should be grounded now if the main line goes straight to the am then splits off to the different rooms in the house the amp should be grouded
