Samsung UN55ES7003 is this a new model or the same as the 7000/7100? - Page 2

Wow, that is good to know, btw are you now on a second 7003 from an exchange? Did you really get unlucky to get a bad samsung lemon? That is what scares me with online and possible hidden delivery fees in exchange.. but the savings on taxes could be huge if all goes well with no damage or unlucky lemon tv.

Can anyone with 7003 post close up pics? It really is not in any store yet and the samsung.com pics look like CG rendered photos not real life photos.

What panel type have people been getting with the 7003? SQ TS US etc.?

I'm also questioning the Samsung 7003 model.
I've been watching the Samsung models for about a year now. I own 2 samsung LCD LED tvs already and had my heart set on a UN55ES7500.
The price of the 7500 seems to be 'locked' at $2197.00 all over which leads me to believe there is a 'price lock' by Samsung vendors so they can 'under sell' other vendors.
While I was searching for lower price Samsung 7500 series TVs a 7003 poped up. First time in a year. It never existed before. The price seems way to low, I'm finding it at $1490.00 at a lot of stores. The fact that it's a 7xxx series makes me think that it has some or all or non of the features of the true 7500.

Does anyone know what the difference is with the 7003 model, how it came to be, and why it just appeared this month(December, 2012).

All the 003 model Samsungs are special holiday sale models and most popped up around BF. As in previous holiday seasons these are limited production models which is why retailers won't normally sacrifice a sale by taking one out of the box and putting it on display. The holiday themed box art is a dead giveaway. usually these holiday models are somewhat "de-contented" to get the price down--fewer inputs etc., though I don't see anything particularly lacking on the 7003.

So, I guess you get a little more connectivity/feature set with the 7100. Picture quality (at least to my eyes) should be nearly identical.

Did you read any of this thread or just click Compare on the Samsung website and Copy & Paste that here? They are both Smart TV's with built-in WiFi. They both have access to the same apps, the 7100 just comes with more pre-loaded. The Contrast Ratio difference is right though. The only reason the comparison says "No" to Wifi and Apps Platform is because Samsung didn't list WiFi or Apps Platform on the 7003's page at all. The features page will show you that they both infact WiFi/Smart TV's.

Do you own either one of them or is there a local shop that has them both on display for you to compare side by side?

Just recieve the Samsung UN55ES7003 last night. Started her up and got a 4 inch vertical white line down the screen.
Got a samsung tech coming out asap. Tried to enjoy what I could see. As soon as I hooked up wifi the unit downloaded updates. Tried to test with Netfliz/Hulu but video was getting buffered. (Wireless N in the house Linksys E4200) Going hardwired as soon as its fixed.

Do any of you know what differences, if any, there are between this ES7003 and the ES7100 as far as menu options for video calibration? Are the menu's identical to the 7100, 7500, 8000 models?

They are pretty much the same. Samsung replaced my 7003 with a 7100. No noticable differences except the 7100 did not have the hub glitch.
