Starting my own Scope Screen with DIY A-Lens

My current set up is a 16:9 120" screen. It is a dedicated HT, with 7.1 surround. Ive been getting the itch to make my own 2.35 ratio AT screen. The width of my theater is only 12'.

My current throw ratio of my Epson 8700UB PJ is approx 17ft.

I plan on doing the double spandex with silver and white. Light is not an issue in my theater.

Anyone have any tips, tricks, pitfalls to chime in to help along the way?

I am a bit confused on the CIH vs CIW. I plan on having the lens on a track to bring in and out depending on what Im watching. Ive been reading some other articles and forums that discuss where the bars show up. Any elaboration on that would be great too!

Will get some pics on my theater as it is now later tonite when I get home from work.

I will be having my lens be a HE. I was a bit confused earlier with my PJ. I use my HTPC to show TV and DVDs that Ive burned. When I hit Anamorphic Wide on the PJ, the screen would be cut in a quarter. I could only see the top right of my desktop.

however, earlier I put in my BD Lord of the Rings which is in 2.4 format. And when I hit Anamorphic wide the screen was stretched from top to bottom. All I need is the lens to stretch the image.

Is there a big difference in making it 2.35 vs 2.4?

Well,,,just found on ebay a UH480 lens, so I snatched that up.

Will be starting my build for my screen sometime soon and will be updated pics as i go along!

Does panamorph sell direct? I need a sled for the UH480.
