Samsung UN55ES7003 Audio Return Channel

The HDMI 2 port on the back of my TV says ARC, which would imply that the set supports Audio Return Channel. I have a Denon AVR-2312CI which also supports ARC and is connected to HDMI 2 on the Samsung TV.

When I go into the Samsung Smart Hub and play content from Pandora (for example), the sound comes out of the built-in TV speaker. How do I configure the TV settings to use ARC instead?

I have very similar question, but I have the Sony 55hx850 (tv) and Denon 2312ci AVR. Netflix is hosted on the TV, but sound will not play through Denon...just TV speakers (which I disable). I thought HDMI was smart enough to sense and switch...When I go to Netflix, the picture plays the Netflix movie while the cable box audio continues to play.

Any help is appreciated.

Enabling HDMI-CEC in the Denon AVR fixed this for me. It, however, has the unintended consequence of an on-screen display whenever I change the volume level. Trying to find the option to turn THAT off now smile.gif

ARC is a pain in the ass. I remember getting it work with my Panasonic TV and marantz AVR and it being so annoying to use that I just switched to optical.
