I just picked up a 1713 for $299 and I am looking at options for speakers in a small 12x12 family room. I have a pair of Paradigm 5SEMk3s for fronts and a Paradigm CC170 for center channel and, for now, a Polk Audio PSW10 Sub. I could also use a pair of Paradigm Titan 3s for the fronts as probably a better match to the CC170. I think the proper match for the SEs is a CC300.
I also have a rarely used 42" unpowered Polk Audio Soundbar Black model that I could use withe PSW10. Right now the wife is balking at surround speakers because of decor and this install is mostly for TV, some movies and music. I will also be hooking up a Samsung series 6, 650 TV (no Arc), an HDTV cable box, blue ray and Apple TV.
So 3.1 with the Paradigms or try the Soundbar to please the wife's decor and budget outlook?
From the cd manual it looks like the auto calibration for the 3.1 will work but I gather that the auto setup won't work with the soundbar so any advice or links on setup to try that would be appreciated.
