Do outside frames show through Centerstage XD?

Hi all,

Just a quick question. I'm building a larger wood frame for Seymour AT screen material. With the way I'm building it I can't have the outside velvet covered frame overlap the edges of the screen as most do. they will actually be outside (just touching the screen boarders) I plan on painting the screen frame flat black and slightly recessing the middle supports.

Will the outside edge of the frame, even if painted black, show through the XD material where the screen is in contact with it?

Yes you will see it if it touches the screen. Maybe not because it will show thru but you risk making a contact point if it touches and that slight contact patch will make an angle / surface change and you will see it. I have used something like a quarter round trim strip around the edge to lift the fabric out just a little.

Thanks for the response. Maybe I'll just angle cut the edge so only the very edge of screen rests on the frame. That should do it I'd think

Yep that will work fine. lots of people can't rip a long piece so some of the suggestions are work arounds for not having tools.
