Foxconn ITX bare-bones $60

Thread Starter
Newegg deal of the day. Looks like a good HTPC starter for cheap.

I've used this for a desktop build. The included cooler must be used in most instances because of the size of the case and it is noisey as help. An after-market low profile cooler could be used but that defeats the deal price.

I'm in for one. Just the BareBones for now, looking at the 35 watt Pentium G630T Sandy Bridge and 8 GB RAM. Bedroom HTPC.

Yeah, $59.99 was the Shell Shocker price.

I almost grabbed one twice.

If it pops up again let me know.

These are back in stock

I'm thinking about grabbing this for the bedroom. Anyone have any positive or negative comments?

I'm about to build an i3-3225 in one. Ad says H61 chipset, MoBo appears to be H67. This one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186211

EDIT: The posts are showing up in the reviews now. It is an H61 (the board is mislabeled) and needs a BIOS update to use IVY Bridge. Reviews say to call FoxConn and they'll send you a new BIOS chip.

This is back on for $65 now. Was thinking about picking one up. What is the minimum CPU I would need to effortlessly play high bit rate 1080p videos?

Nice deal back

They're pretty responsive with the BIOS update too. I e-mailed them and had mine within a week. The IvyBridge fired right up after that. Haven't completed the build (still shuffling parts like drives and memory) but it looks like a nice solid box.

What CPU ? Why did you need bios update ?
I put a i3-3225 in it. Didn't have a low power SandyBridge to boot with to do the BIOS upgrade so FoxConn sent me a pre-flashed BIOS upgrade. Got the 3225 for $109.99. Probably overkill but...
