If the 3rd is laid back gameplay similar to Skyrim I might instead get it for the xbox 360 and rocker recline my way through.
I played hundred of hours with skyrim on the 360 and don't remember very many interations with wildlife beyond simply killing them off. Wonder when the game will hit 30 bucks on Steam.
Don't worry. My comparison to Skyrim has more to do with the similar "emergent" moments and mission structure.
Otherwise, it's about as action-filled as a GTA game. And the difficulty tuning is much better than Skyrim, too. At least from the few hours I've played so far. But I'm guessing that will remain true because there's no level-scaling enemies. Skyrim became a breeze after about 20 hours, even on the highest difficulty setting.
Anyone who's playing Far Cry 3 on hard (and gotten further than I have) care to comment?
Also, if you have a choice between 360 and PC, I'd check out Digital Foundry's comparison
before you decide. The framerate supposedly gets pretty ugly on console (sub-20fps in places).Edited by confidenceman - 12/7/12 at 12:40pm
