Nuvo Keypad Locations

I am in the middle of building a house and have chosen Nuvo GC for WHA. I am leaning towards putting keypads next to light switches but I know a lot of people put them above. I can't find many pictures on the web of keypads actually on walls but my my guess is that they will blend more if next to light switches.

I'd love to hear what other people decided and why and also see pictures if you happen to have them.

Thanks in advance!

When I moved into my house, in-wall volume controls were at light switch height. When I retrofitted the Nuvo KPs, I moved them up to eye/thermostat height in those rooms where we were were painting/remodelling. So, currently, have a mix. Eye/thermostat height much preferred, for ease of use. All will go up to eye height eventually, no contest.

55-60" to the bottom of the mud ring is what I would recommend. When installed over switches/lighting control keypads I find it blends well.

I actually have all three configurations in my build... But I agree with BradKas, best placement is above the switches, the one I like the best is ~58" to the bottom of the keypad. Reasons are 1) above/below consumes less wall space, and 2) above puts the keypad closer to eye level, since you're going to be looking at a display, it makes sense...

Here's some photos from my house - geez I need to work on the alignment!!! biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

I've also been using 60" to the middle of the KPs.

My rule of thumb:
-Simple Volume Control - light switch height.
- Any sort of 2-way device - 60" to center give or take (can vary depending on client's preference)

Hmmm - bigger question is what the heck happened to the color on that image since I uploaded it????

I swear my dining room is NOT "Cheetos Orange"!!!!

EDIT: Ok, I think I fixed it - on the new Photobucket interface I must have bumped the saturation edit when I was trying to crop... But now it's imported into AVS and I can't seem to edit it. So:

Wow. Thanks for all the replies this really helps. I guess everybody agrees above the switches.

@jautor - thanks for clarifying about the cheeto orange picture I was very curious about what the orange room was.
