help with picture settings?

Just bought my samsung 51" 1080p 600hz pn51e530 or pn51e530a3fxza I just hooked it up with my hd dvr with hdmi not the componet cabels. If that better? Anyways what recommendations for best picture settings?

HDMI is usually better, and for some sources may be required.
