So I bought these speakers for my first step in my first home theater system. Not sure of room size yet as I'm going to be moving within a month or 2. I know a little bit on what to look for in an AVR but still not comfortable yet. What are some Major must haves in AVRs to be great.

Heres the receivers on newegg and when I search I look at the most reviews and top rated. I also was thinking on saying screw it and look for a 7.1-7.2 AVR. which is better? Can I get some options from You about what You think would be a good fit for the speakers I recently bought?? Doesn't have to be with newegg but I've bought everything else from there. I would be greatly appreciated with what you guys suggest.

i would be willing to spend 450-550$ at the very most.

I too have been looking to upgrade from my aging Sony STR-DA50ES in about the same price range and know how tough it is to make your mind up! For slightly more at $599 the Pioneer SC-1222-K makes me drool! You can find it sometimes on the egg for low $500ish range open box. The Yamaha RX-V473, 573, and 673 are all in your price range. By what Ive read, the 473 and 573 are the same unit except the 473 is 5.1 and 573 is 7.1. As far as going for a 7.1/7.2 vs a 5.1, ask yourself are you really going to use the 7.1? If not, its a waste if you can get the same features and quality in a solid 5.1 for less. I hope this helps some as these have made my personal short list!

If you don't mind factory refurbs, you might give One Call a call. A few days ago I got a RX-A800 with two year factory warranty from them in your price range. They had 4 units at the time. Decent chance they still have one.
