hello guys, i am wondering what is the use of this features on our TV's. do we get any benefits of these features if we use them?

On my LCd i do not use Noise Reduction when watching blu-ray ( never use Noise Reduction when blu-ray is the source). I do use Noise Reduction when watching satellite TV. I don't use MPEG Noise Reduction at all. btw my TV has excellent Noise Reduction that is why i use it smile.gif

When the source is really bad/ not blu-ray quality decent Noise Reduction will make it watchable/ will improve quality, that is what Noise Reduction is for and that is why blu-ray does not need Noise Reduction.

ok. i have direct tv cable, and some HD channels the video quality is not so good compare to other HD channels. so it is better to turn them on for daily cable tv shows? and turn both off while watching blurays. what about streaming video like netflix?

Its really quite simple:
Take a SD source and try the highest Noise Reduction setting, then you will see what it does. Ask yourself 'do i need this?'(or a bit of this (low-medium-high). Noise Reduction might help a bit or make things worse. Check out what Noise Reduction/MPEG Noise Reduction does to all sources except for blu-ray quality and decide for yourself wether or not it improves the viewing experience. In general expert advise is not to use Noise Reduction.
