Can I do better than Polk Rti8 for under 500/pr?

So I picked up a pair of Rti8's last week for 300/pr at Fry's and I actually have no complaints, they seem to be solid speakers and sound good but I've never really tried any other brand but Polk and am really curious about giving some internet direct companies a try. Would I get more for my money going that route or am I going to be hard pressed beating these Polks for under 500 a pair? I've always used Floorstanders as well but I have nothing against Bookshelves. Oh and while I will use them for home theater I'm much more picky about music so that is priority number 1, in general I prefer a nice full sound without boomy bass or fatiguing high frequencies.

Room is roughly 13' x 15' and my receiver is a Harman Kardon AVR 525 by the way. Thanks in advance.

Updated my post to say I primarily want them for music but yes I've heard of Wharfedale and was actually eyeing the Evo2-30 which are 660 on music directs site, the EVO2-10 would probably fit the bill as well. Yes I know that's above the 500 in my post but is the Evo line a lot better for music than the diamonds?

Those are affordable as well, may have to consider them, thank you.
