Nope, I've never slammed any one in a forum yet and never will. I used to be a moderator in a PC forum and have seen too much of it. I just ignore things I don't like.

It's hard to ignore when it's regularly personalized in an intentionally mean spirited way.

Does being old school involve memory loss? wink.gif Early web-based forums that are the ancestors of this forum didn't begin until the mid to late 1990s. USENET existed before that, but it was hardly "the norm" except for maybe techno geeks. Of course if that's what you are referring to, you can still go back to USENET if you are truly being "old school" wink.gif

Now that my son has had his RW-12d for a few days he's all giddy about it. Sure beats the heck out of that old Cerwin Vega sub he had. The bass is sooo much better than before. He now has plans on adding a 2nd one in the opposite corner.

Stanley,

Glad you son is giddy about his RW-12d.....best deal on the internet. Haven't heard the sub,
but a lot of people sure love it.

Yeah, for the money it's hard to beat. I used to have one in my man cave but it wasn't enough for my room size and had planned on adding a 2nd one. Instead I decided to sell it and get a Rythmik. I should have kept the Klipsch if I had thought I would have given it to my son for his B-day. At least I was able to sell the Klipsch for only a $25 loss on craigslist. Actually only a $5 loss since the Klipsch was on a lower sale price.

You mean back on those Usenet discussion forums where the terms "troll" and "flaming" originated wink.gif
post #1600 of 2776

Gentlemen, please, WAY off topic.

XStanleyX,

That Rythmik is a great sub. Servo no doubt? I have an old Velo ULD-12 that's servo, and it's
not going anywhere. Out in the living (stereo only) room.

I went in a different direction with Power Sound Audio, and am lovin' it!

Yeah, it's servo. The Rythmik FV15HP. There's no going wrong with either brand. Darn near went with PS but they were on back order and I had no patience at the time.

You can say things about a man's wife, but DON'T YOU DARE say things about his sub!!! rolleyes.gif

I see a lot of smiley faces, and I can understand why Mr. B-man thinks people are pickin' on him; THEY ARE! But with a smile on their faces (I hope). tongue.gif Personally, I like Mr. B. When I was agonizing over buying this very sub, he spent a lot of time giving me what I consider to be pretty good advice. Mr. B, you're OK in my book.

It's halftime at the NCAA basketball finals. If you're reading this, you have about an hour and a half to order that Kipsch for $279 you all know you want! (especially us first time sub owners.)

I'm going to stay with just the one sub, and no talk about nulls. My one Klipsch sounds just fine to me. tongue.gif

I'm sure you're right. I was just having fun with the "too late" comment in regard to the comment I was responding to.

Not sure about your question the only switch is the main power on | or off 0. In my room I had to put the volume down to -20 for Audessey to keep within about a -4 adjustment.

Somehow I knew that once you got the sub you would need step by step instructions on how to set it up. Read the first couple of pages here before you do anything else.

What makes you think you need to turn off any switch at the back of the sub before doing anything?
Probably thinking of the crossover LFE setting. On the Klipsch RW-12D there is no crossover dial. This function is in the menus and should be set to LFE OFF I think it is.

i dont see any gain or volume knob from the subwoofer, not like my dayton 1200. that is why i am asking what to do before running aud.

First thing I'd do is read the owner's manual... smile.gif

- Volume to 50% (to start)
- EQ Mode to "Flat"
- Lowpass to "Lowpass OFF LFE Mode"
- Phase to 0°

I hope no one gets upset over good natured ribbing over being old school. smile.gif

Although, I don't think I'm ready to be old school when it comes to audio equipment. I think I'll stick with MP3 players over the Sony Walkman II I used to walk around campus with as a college freshmen when they first came out:

Some things have definitely improved in the audio world. For instance, now we have affordable, kick ass home audio subwoofers smile.gif
