During bass sweeps, I know my subs work well because when you get to the low stuff when it's below human hearing they rattle doors against the door frames, which I fixed with some rubber stickies. They are loud too, I have to keep them turned down so they don't overpower everything else

Wow, that is quite impressive!! Thanks for the info!

Well, I did some more reading and researching last night here in this wonderful site and came across ShadyJ's post/list of subs at every price point and thanks to him, I now also have my eyes set on the PA-150. Bond, have you had any experience with this sub by any chance and how does it compare to the RW? Looks like its a monster and can supposedly be had for $350! I swear, the more I read, the more lost/confused I get, lol!

Here's Archaea's thread when he played around with the RW12D http://www.avsforum.com/t/1390563/klipsch-rw-12d-omnimic-frequency-response-graphs

I returned it to newegg and they charged me $75 to ship it back!! Do I have a leg to stand on in fighting this shipping fee? The damage was no fault of my own, why should I pay a return fee? Besides, it's no longer the deal it was before after adding $75 to the cost. What do you guys think about this? Should I call and fight it?

I had a defective one too. I called Newegg and told them I had a defective sub and needed a return shipping label, and they emailed me one for free. I attached this shipping label to the package and sent it back. So you SHOULD NOT have to pay for return shipping on a defective item, you need to call customer service and request a return shipping label.

If on the other hand you already sent it back without requesting a return shipping label, I'm not sure whether or not they'll reimburse you for that.

I've got a small collection of those things from various purchases over the years....never thought about buying them but searching rubber feet adhesive got me a list of choices http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_11?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=rubber+feet+adhesive&sprefix=rubber+feet%2Caps%2C407

Just got a Newegg e-mail with this on sale again...although it was only 'off sale' for about 3 days.

So far, I like it a lot and highly doubt you can beat it for $300.00 w/ free shipping.

The BIC F12 does hold it's own w/ the Klipsch during loud scenes...I won't lie about that.

But the Klipscsh, from what I can tell so far, is better overall.

I hear the Klipsch making noise all the time whereas the BIC F12 only seems to make noise during louder crashes and what not.

Its the quality of the "noise" that's most different.

Do I just have to sign up for email notifications and I should get these promo codes?

Hmmm it still shows $350, not $300 on newegg's website. Is there a code?

At this price point it kept popping up in any research I did.. I'm sure there are tons of much better subs that go deeper, are cleaner and louder.. but I didn't want to go pricier than this.

I hear you. I had the RW-12d when my budget wouldn't allow any more. You'll be happy.
At the $400 price point, is the RW-12d still good or is there a better sub for that price?

I started out with a pair of PSW505's. One died a week after I got it so I just got a refund instead of an exchange and ordered a single RW-12D. Thought about getting a 2nd one but sold it and the Polk. Kept that money and saved for the sub I have now. I probably would have been happy with dual Klipschs but you know how the story goes.

Haha, yes, i am slowly learning. Are the RW-12d's usually on sale for 300 or is it rare to get this discount? I am just wondering if i need to jump now or if i am okay waiting

They usually go on sale about every two weeks or so. It's a discontinued model so there is no telling when they will eventually run out of stock. They've been discontinued for quite awhile.

Just a word to the wise; if you don't buy it, they'll never come. Just saying. tongue.gif

Called Newegg again and got ahold of a nice csr and explained the situation. She put me on hold and and contacted someone in the warehouse who told her they did not have any cords. She then informed me she would send me a return label and I could return it and they would send me a new one. I was like that seems kinda dumb for a cord, canabalizing a new sub in the warehouse and taking the cord would be cheaper. Anyway I didn't want to go through the hassle and possibly end up with a sub that had broken port tubes etc. I instead told her I would buy it from Klipsch if they would refund the price of the cord and she agreed. So Klipsh doesn't have the cords in stock, they are on back order. Considering they don't make this sub anymore I doubt they will get anymore, so I was able to find one place online that has these cords, 5 bucks for the cord and 15 for shipping, done. Suprisingly she called me back the next night to see what i came up with.smile.gif So Newegg redeemed themselves as far as I'm concerned.

As an aside I was watching Aliens the other night and the rumbling of the ship had my tv vibrating so the text on the screen was visibly shaking!biggrin.gif
Makes me want 2 more. j/k
When I upgrade I think I'm going with 2 Rythmik FV15hp's or maybe.....

My second one came today and I was just unboxing. No rattling but it's missing the power cord. Wondering what site you ordered the cable from, as I really don't want to have to ship this back, risk getting a lemon, etc...

Sucks since it's the weekend...

You can use the same type of cord you plug into your PC. Pretty common cord. There was one other member who didn't get a cord with his either. Pretty sure that's what he did. If not I don't know where he got one if not from newegg..

Hopefully he will chime in. If I remember the persons nightmare correctly after many discussions with Newegg they made him ship it back at no cost and shipped him another one. They claimed that they couldn't just ship him a cord because they didn't have an extra one.

Can someone who has this sub post the specs of the original cord please? It should be on the plug. usually they tell you the amperes it can handle. I think it might be important to use a cord that at least can handle that much...
