Can someone recommend me "Ferrari Red" or High Gloss white speakers?

I'm desiring a bookshelf, two way speaker set up to replace my small Cambridge Minx speakers, and want one either in F Red or in high gloss white.

Sound quality is important so if imaging and sense of "being there" is good, then that is excellent.

I am looking to build a 3.1 or 2.1 system, as surround is "overkill" for the space I am renting out (a basement suite).

I am looking to spend $1000 or less, anything more is too much for me.

The speaker stands I am looking at are high gloss, heavy weight black ones (can't remember the brand), so I figure a glossy white or red (with black cones and tweeters) will look VERY nice paired with it.

If any of you have any recommendations it will be greatly appreciated. My walls are ivory, with beige/brownish carpets, and white cabinets, and a built in glass door/wooden cabinet.

P.S. Yes, I am shopping for speakers in a sense that they are furniture pieces as well, not just for function.

Bowers and Wilkins has been known to do piano white and matte white (My LM1 is white).

Ferarri red: you are likely looking at custom veneer work. There are a number of builders who build custom; but price might be an issue.

Consider looking at the cost of having a cabinet maker re-veneer whatever you buy, subtract that from your available money, and then buy whatever you like.

I believe the Dynaudio Excite X12 is available in Gloss White. Might be just outside your budget...depending on what kind of discount you can negotiate wink.gif but they are great and great-looking speakers. You should take a listen/look.

For red you could try focals 800 series like the 806 or 807. White try the dynaudios above

It looks like you would need to get the 806W from focal which are $1299, which is about the same price($1275) as the Dynaudio Excite X12s. There is the Totem Mite in white or red for $995 ther are white Dreamcatchers $650/pr and Rainmakers in white $1200.

Another contender...

I'm interested in these myself (in Black), for an Office system; after reading this great review http://www.stereophile.com/content/dali-zensor-1-loudspeaker

Killer pub for that price, but I didn't even realize they came in White.

The Ascend Sierras comes in under your budget and Dave will do custom work( added expense...of course)...I've seen some gloss white Sierra but can't seem to find them now...other ID who'll do csuston work are Funk Audio and I can't forget about Salk Audio for the Salk crowd....wink.gifsmile.gif.

Excellent suggestions from everyone biggrin.gif Thank you all

I am curious as to if Ascend Acoustics will do custom paint work (Ferrari Red) for their HTM 200 SE speakers, as I only see white, black and auto silver as color choices.

Totem Mites looks the nicest as far as I can tell (in Ferrari Red and in gloss black) and I am now wondering if the red is too overpowering in a room, and in the dark when watching movies using a projector. The Red will stand out in daytime conditions, but even in the dark, I can see my Minx speakers' black gloss during brighter scenes.

I pan to only have a 2.1 or 3.1 (at most) set up with my speakers, and this could change in the future but it's just too many speakers for a small room, so I will be staring at the screen a lot and hope the speakers' colors won't be too overpowering.

Are Axiom speakers any good? They have a LOT of customization options, and no red. I did notice, however, once you choose a custom finish the price shoots up close to a surplus of $300. That is alot of money IMO so I want to get a speaker around the $650 of a custom Axiom build, and get a speaker that already has a white or red finish, without having to pay extra for a specific color.

Ascend Acoustics can have any of their offerings custom finished with automotive quality paint.

I came across these PSB bookshelfs which has a nice color of yellow, matte black and a cherry cabinet:

Is PSB a good brand? Are these particular speakers any good?

I am now deciding between the Totem Mites (in Ferrari red), these Imagine Minis, and the Ascend Acoustics HTM 200 SE.

I'll second the Monitor Audio RX1s. I have the RX6 towers and I love them.

The new Sonus Faber Venere 1.5 come in a gloss white. Sound amazing, although not everyone will like the look:

PSB makes some nice stuff, yes. You really need to listen to what you can before you buy, though; otherwise the ID brands offer a trial period, but not if you order a custom finish.

Which subwoofers are you looking into, and what is the budget for that alone?

The Sonus Faber looks pretty cool and it kinda reminds me of the alien from "Alien".

The RX1s looks clean and simple but I'm still underwhelmed by it's looks.

I don't think there is any way of me demoing any PSB speakers in my city, but with that in mind, these are still on my shortlist.

I haven't decided on a subwoofer, but I'm likely going to limit myself to a store where I have $400 store credit. It would have to be a black subwoofer most likely, regardless of my color choice for speakers.

Hi,

Have a look at Epsilon speakers - they offer a number of colours including Red & White & are receiving very good reviews here in the UK!
