8,000 Cubic Foot Room

My brother-in-law is shopping for a sub that will perform reasonably well in his 8,000 cubic foot space. It's an open living room/kitchen/dining area with a 20 foot ceiling over the living room.

He's trying to keep it in the $500 or under price range and this should include shipping to Alaska.

Also, note that the sub will be accompanying his Monitor Audio - Bronze BX-6 floorstanding speakers.

Any suggestions?

I really don't think one sub will handle a space that size.

One $500 sub won't do it, even if you are able to get free shipping to Alaska. IMO, the SVS PB-1000 ($499, with free shipping in CONUS) is perhaps as close as you'll get to your target.

Good point. I keep forgetting that, when a large room + a small budget is involved, the two usual "alternate routes" are DIY and near-field placement. smile.gif
