Rip DVDs / Blu-Rays Directly from XBMC?

Hi there,

I've done some searching on this, and the best information I can find is the following: http://code.google.com/p/swiss-army-knife/

However, this code hasn't been updated in over a year. Is it still relevant? Is there a better way?

My use-case is that I'm going to have an XBMC box w/ a Blu-Ray drive, and I'd love to be able to rip the blu-rays / DVDs directly from the XBMC menu, rather than having to exit out of XBMC and use MakeMKV.

Thanks!!

Due to ongoing DRM/copy protection on both DVDs and BluRays moving forward, you need to use third party tools that keep up to date with the latest protections, such as makeMKV or DVDFab

DVDfab works like a native Linux app with Wine. Install Wine with one line copy/paste in terminal
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install wine1.5

then install DVDFab like any app in Win

Thanks! What about just using MakeMKV and playing MKVs directly? I know I'd have to leave XBMC to rip the DVDs / Blu Rays, but I believe MakeMKV will play that MKV files without issue.
