Has anyone been able to use Start8 or "Classic Shell" so when the computer boots we go straigh to desktop and enable Steam Big Picture mode as the interface?

Building my awesome SFF now (Bitfinix/i7 3770k/680/16GB). Debating win 7 vs win 8....

I use Start8 and it looks just like Win7 desktop.

Window 8 reminds me of Window 3.1 with all the icons in the middle.

When i saw the start menu in Window 95 a long time ago, i said to myself, "Now THAT is the future!!".

Add the arguement -bigpicture to the steam shortcut

That should make it start in big picture mode.

You are on your own for getting it to start up when windows starts.

I know you can schedule Steam to start at logon but in Win8 you have to click to the desktop to get to it. I don't know how to make it start after logon where it goes to the Metro start screen and then to steam. I'd be curious if someone knows how.

If the file structure is the same as Win7, then place your steam shortcut in "c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\microsoft\windows\start menu\programs\startup"
