Crysis 3 - Feb 28

New multiplayer modes:

Campaign:
WOW!

I'm pretty sure I'll be getting this. Crysis 3 was very under-appreciated for what it achieved in graphics, campaign, and a first run at console multiplayer. For those of you that like Halo and COD this is your bridge game.

The only non Halo and COD game I played for quite a while was Crysis 2. Fun game.

I got tired of it seeming like you had to stealth all the time in Crysis 2, so I quit playing it about half way through it.

That was the downer with the MP, the stealth suit was over used with no real counter for it. I;m hopin tje next one will be more balanced.

Looking great..as expected smile.gif

I guess I was spoiled by Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, because the modes in the first video don't seem like a draw to me. PvP isn't my speed because you can't count on humans to be consistent.

Now, I never finished Crysis 2 because my skills needed more than just polishing. I'm still not sure I'd do well even though Mass Effect 3 on Insanity got to be easy and Deus Ex Human Revolution's stealth stuff is finally working out a year later after starting over. By the time I can get Crysis 2 restarted and done, Crysis 3 will probably be in the bargain bin and MP will be forgotten, but such is my luck...

I never got into the ME games as I don't care for RPG. I liked Crysis because it seemed like a cross between my favorites COD and Halo. The MP was actually pretty good but the stealth mode on the suit was overpowered/overused which made it a bit unbalanced to me.

I enjoyed Crysis 2, but it was so slow that I eventually moved on to another game. Every once in a while I put it back in to play, but after hearing "cloak engaged" 50 more times in the span of 5 minutes, I tend to turn it off.

Crysis 3 looks good, more of the same but with better graphics and another cool story.

Did you mess with MP? I thought it was pretty solid for a first time effort at console online play for them.

The frame rate wasnt doing it any favors either. And something about the shooting didnt feel right, like there wasnt enough aim assist. I played it for a few hours, thought it was kinda meh, but a few tweaks away from being great.

The campaigns are still some of my favorites though. It most games you're a superhero....in Crysis, you're a hunter. The style is just so refreshing, its one or the few games where I jack the difficulty up to max and it just feels right. Can't wait for this one.

I did play it for a very short period of time, but I was late buying the game and it seemed like there were very few new guys like myself. With everyone amped up, and knowing every map like the back of their hand, it was a challenge to get into it. I gave it a shot and leveled up a few times, but eventually stopped with the MP.

I did like this feeling, and I was playing with the difficulty at max. The only problem was that it began to feel like 99% of the game I was crouched, and I hearing "cloak engaged" over and over and over and over (you get the idea) drove me nuts.

I thought the MP felt pretty solid, I just didn't like the cloaking... it seemed overpowered in duration and there was really no counter balace perk or scope try and use against it. I liked the maps and weapons, some of the suit functions and mele attack animations in MP were also pretty cool. The campaign was where it was at though. I've felt the same way about Halo. I like the MP but never play for too long, the campaigns on the other hand are probably the only ones I will go through more than once.

I think I've played through Crysis 1 and 2 at least 4 times each. I loved hunting in the jungle in Crysis 1, and stalking around NYC in Crysis 2. I think I got like halfway through C1 on super solider with just the tranq dart.

Now NYC is a jungle? Sold!

I just hope they put as much TLC into 3 as they did 1 and 2. I'm gonna be really disappointed if its a quick cash-in.

MP beta demo is up if anyone wants to check it out. I only played a couple matches but thought the weapons felt light and there was waaaay too much going on with the HUD and crap in all 4 corners of the screen.
Played the beta for about an hour last night, had some good fun.

I agree the HUD is pretty ridiculous, very cluttered.
The regular mode plays like a mix of COD, Battlefield and Crysis 2..all good.

Hunter mode is a Beast....very different and TENSE...its like Hide and Seek on steroids...eek.gif

Hunter Mode is pretty fun but but is way too short as they should make each round last 8 to 10 minutes for this gametype to truly shine.CrashSite is fun when its not laggy but it usually us and is farily jaggy graphically on PS3 and xbox 360.C2 MP also suffered from pretty bad lag and made me not enjoy nowhere near as much as I wanted to.I will buying C3 for its campaign as Crysis mp has always been an average at best experience.

Maybe my memory is fading but I recall my MP experiences with Crysis 2 to be better than this, the graphics seemed cleaner on the last release. Hopefully they can fine tune some things for MP because it has a lot of potential.

Crysis 2 graphically on consoles was definitely much cleaner looking and less jaggy then what I've seen and played in C3.Crysis 2 mp could've been much more enjoyable if it wasn't for the very shotty netcode.Crysis mp is a meshmash of COD and Halo which isn't a bad thing as long as it plays and runs well..Hopefully, the beta we've played is a very early build of the game.Let's see.

I loved Crysis 2 and the Crysis 3 Beta...don't know what to pick up.

Crysis 3 or Metal Gear Rising: Revengance.

I was not feeling the beta at all. I may hold off and transfer my pre-order $$ to Tomb Raider and wait for a bargain bin on Crysis 3. Maybe if I see some MP and campaign vids on the tube that look better than the beta did I'll jump on but the graphics were a total mess on the beta and that was a strong point for Crysis 2 IMO.

The Single player is fantastic, the bow gives even more options.

The graphics are second to none...animations are superd and lighting effects look realistic.

The gameplay and mechanics are better than Crysis 2...

Multiplayer is FUN...real fluid and lots of different game types.

The Graphics look just as good as single player, its an improvement over the beta.

I don't do MP at all.

Read the reviews, SP campaign is over in about 5 hours, and the AI isn't very clever. Won't be getting this just for the graphics and 5 hour long SP experience.

So, pass!

I just finished the Single player on Veteran it took over 10 hours with secondary objectives.

Crysis 3's single player is better than Crysis and Crysis 2.

Crysis is very easy unless you bump up the level to Vet which greatly impacts the AI. I wasn't impressed with the graphics and feel of the beta for MP so skipped it but will pick it up when it is around $30 for the campaign. I really enjoyed the Crysis 2 campaign and it was looooong.

Anyone else getting frequent audio dropouts playing the campaign (installed the the hard drive)? I finished the first level and it was so frequent I thought my 360 was dying.

Same thing on my Xbox360, also had the game installed.

Lots of drop outs via my Surround Sound system, the Beta was the same.

Usually a later patch will fix the audio bugs.
