I am afraid video processing on most tvs are terrible. Some tvs get scaling and deinterlacing ok but has yet to see any with decent noise reduction. they usually blur image to take out noise. I own the algolith mosquito hdmi unit and so far I have not seen anything better. Algolith sold its technologies to HQV. Apperantly HQV reon/realta/vida chips use partial algolith flea/mosquito algorithms. Algolith units were specificaly designed for mosquito noise processing. HQV chips do de-interlacing,scaling,cms,noise reduction and does not have enough processing power and memory to implement complete algolith algorithms.
When I first got my algolith mosquito hdmi hooked up, I didnt see much of a difference on side by side comparisons. Then I removed it from my setup, It didnt take me long to notice the picture quality suffered a lot without it. Now I cant stand watching fios hd, streaming, dvds without algolith in the chain
