The speakers are Klipsch HD Theater 1000 5.1 and they are being connected to a Denon AVR-1613 receiver if that matters. Thanks in advance!

14 gauge wire is the right thing to use.

Oops. The issue is that the instructions that came with the speakers say to use 16-20 gauge wire. I have 14. Is it a problem to use the 14 when it says to use 16-20? From I've been able to gather it shouldn't really matter and should improve quality if anything. Can you confirm? Thanks.

Only if the terminals won't accommodate 14. If it fits in the holes, you're good.
